Mesotherapy is a technique used in aesthetic medicine to restore and revitalise the skin. This treatment intensively moisturizes, enriches with variety of substances, restores the elasticity, skin tone, and radiance of the skin.
About the procedure
Mesotherapy involves the use of small needles to micro-inject various mixtures of active ingredients into the upper layers of the skin. Biologically active agents also called “beauty cocktails” reach the 0.5 to 1.0 mm depth and directly affect the corrective zones. This treatment method activates the production of collagen and elastin, and skin becomes firmer and more resilient. Mesotherapy procedures for the face are recognised as one of the most effective ways to treat skin problems. After the first procedure, the skin’s colour and tone improve as well as the spontaneous stimulation of cellular regeneration, resulting in the smoothing of fine lines, the normalisation of the sebaceous glands, and the reduction of vascular star formation. As the walls of the blood vessels are also strengthened, the skin acquires a remarkable inner radiance.
Through microinjections not only hyaluronic acid, but also vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are injected into the skin during mesotherapy treatment. These agents stimulate cells that are responsible for collagen production – elastin, which is responsible for skin elasticity; and matrix in between the cells, which protects the skin from the damaging effects of free radicals. Mesotherapy is performed several times depending on the condition of the skin and client’s needs. Mesotherapy can help moisturize the skin quickly and permanently, even when the skin is dehydrated.
Am I a suitable candidate?
Mesotherapy is recommended for people age 30 and older to prevent skin ageing. Mesotherapy for the face is particularly effective for people with dry skin, tired, dehydrated from sun exposure, or mature skin that has lost elasticity. Mesotherapy is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women, people with autoimmune diseases or various active infectious diseases.
Before the procedure
During the procedure
After the procedure
The specialist performs a thorough skin examination: he or she determines the condition of the skin and decides on the composition of the beauty cocktail to be used. Before the procedure, the skin is cleansed, thoroughly disinfected and then the mesotherapy procedure begins.
The procedure uses ultra-fine needles that gently pierce the skin surface to deliver and evenly distribute all the ingredients that make up the mesotherapeutic beauty cocktail. A small amount of the product is delivered to the skin with each prick. Injection techniques may vary: depending on the age, condition and sensitivity of the skin, different needles may be chosen, and in the case of more pronounced age-related changes in the skin, treatments should be more intensive and use more varied techniques. The treatment uses the FILORGA NCTF cocktail with hyaluronic acid, injected into the skin in a quantity of 3 ml (one sterile ampoule).
Treatments are almost painless, but sometimes redness occurs right after the treatment, and goes away after a few hours, or rarely up to 24 hours. Allergic reactions are rare. Patients can usually return to their normal daily life immediately after the procedure, but open sunlight or sunbathing, sauna and alcohol consumption are not recommended for a while. There is also a small chance of small (pea-sized) bruising at the injection sites, but this fades quickly and is easily corrected with make-up.
The risk of adverse effect is highly related to an un-qualified specialist and inappropriate, non-certified products. However, you should not worry, because in Sapiega clinic mesotherapy is performed only by qualified specialists, and FILORGA products are certified with CE sign and it corresponds to the most stringent clinical standards.
